Description
Palm Sanders are must-have items for most composite fabricators and automotive body shops. There are typically three different orbital diameters which are 2.5mm, 5mm and 8mm. The choice is dependent on the cutting capacity. Alpha® introduces the ROPS-056 Palm Sander which has a 5mm orbit diameter. Since this is the most popular size for the general purpose applications, these types of tools are easier to work with on large flatter surfaces as compared with a single action sander/polisher. The Alpha® ROPS-056 has a well-balanced, lightweight design that is easy to operate with low noise emissions and little vibration on the hand. This has been made possible, by a composite motor housing and rotor, with ergonomics as a key focal point. The unit also has a dust port available to hook-up to a dust hose for a virtually dust-free central vacuum sanding application. Combine this with the Alpha® HEPA vacuum for a solid solution for dust control!

Question : What kind of compressor do I need to use for the ROPS-056?
Answer : Since the ROPS-056 may consume up to 2 CFM, Alpha® recommends using with a 2 hp or larger compressor that is commonly found in garages.
Question : Can I use the ROPS-056 for wet sanding and polishing?
Answer : Yes. You can use the ROPS-056 for wet sanding and polishing if you do not use the central vacuum function. Since there is no water feed available, you may have to use a sprayer to wet the surface.
Question : Does the ROPS-056 come with a sanding product?
Answer : No. The ROPS-056 comes with a standard backer pad with a standard 6-hole pattern.
Question : What kind of maintenance do I have to do on the ROPS-056?
Answer : Alpha® recommends adding daily oil to the designated oil port at the end of the job to lubricate the motor
Question : Does Alpha® offer a palm sander with other orbit diameters?
Answer : No. Currently the ROPS-056 with a 5mm orbit diameter is the only one offered at this time.
